Veteran Resort-Chapel, Chris Sununu, Rod Doherty,
Veteran Resort Chapel
Chris Sununu invited me to the Seacoast Veterans conference and I attended even thought I knew it would be a waste of time. It was not and we need more politicians’ like Chris. I saw my total image in what the doctors were talking in their progress in TBI and PTSD. The cruel false impression back when I first looked for help after returning from the Vietnam Conflict. The rejection and lost days of my life as the doctors used us as guinea pigs to learn about two disabilities they had no idea that what the patient was saying was real. Real events at least to the Veteran who is returning from the zone. The intrusive memory termed now as flashbacks. I learned that even though my base camp was not in Vietnam that my TAD’s and my eight convoys as American Advisor across Thailand, Laos and Cambodia, along with my participation in two Vietnam offensives one under live fire even though is was limited to just the first day I can finally believe I am a combat veteran even though my DD 214 only describes administration in put.
I also realized a sad thing when a VA worker asked if the patient (a US Military combat Veteran) the Red Flag is placed on is for the symptoms of his combat disability should not the VA treat the disabilities rather than place a red flag. Another VA worker described the Red Flag as a safety thing that the patient never knows it is there. This description is so far from the truth. The Red Flag is the root cause from the shame and ridicule it brings out in workers wanting to be safe that the patient the US Military Combat Veteran would rather be homeless without medical care than lower his pride in the USA so much. These Combat Veterans are classified, as the one’s that slipped through the cracks. I openly spoke about the Red Flag and more than half of the Veterans and or their family member thanked me because the damage the Red Flag did to them or their combat veteran family member. Family members and veterans are afraid to speak openly of VA wrongs for fear of losing what little they get from the VA. After I spoke it was clear most VA workers at the conference recognized that I write these letters of government wrongs every day that they receive and read for the then isolation began. The VA workers if I approached would turn away or start talking to others and ignore my presents until I moved on. I have to be honest not all VA workers did this neglect and isolation thing. Several wanted to learn more about my case and try to give me advice how to get help. Yes I described how my medical care for combat disabilities has been stopped until I stop writing these letters. One even told me how she looked at my file after reading one of my letters and that it indicated I do get medical care. Yes I do but only for other things that I never ask for and this is to fluff my file to convince any investigation that medical care is continues. The Red Flag does damage not even VA hospital staff can recognize.
I hope Chris reads this letter and asks publicly why the news media does not inform the public to the truth. I hope Chris was serious about seeing the Veteran Resort Chapel and telling NH that Veteran helping Veterans is the best. I learned that it is just not me the VA does this to it is many other Vietnam Veterans also.
