Veterans Administration Gauntlet

Veterans Administration Gauntlet
The history of the VA has and is lack of trust on the veteran’s part. Case & point the VA knowingly give drugs for PTSD treatment that do not work. There fore starting new programs are great except returning veterans do not want to see life through medication, reality should be coming home. The VA tests drugs and is using Veterans as genie pigs. A US Military veteran is red flagged if deemed a danger. The disability is the danger. Treat the disability not shame the patient. US Military Veterans are citizens that gave the greatest gift to the USA. To come home to be second-class citizens is not right. Censoring the opinion letters of veterans telling what we did or the wrongs of the VA gauntlet is as wrong as wasting more money on new programs. A Veterans Administration that knowingly harms veterans through paper work maze or harmful medication that does not work is the cause of lack of trust that just grows over the years. Censoring the opinion letters of US Military veterans clearly documents my point.
I got a phone call from Al yesterday. Al is a disabled veteran that the VA ran through a gauntlet. Al wants to start a program Veterans helping Veterans through the VA gauntlet. Our senators such a Sheehan proposed a bill to start new programs but fail to see the gauntlet that their predators continued. Elected officials that never served are the problem. The history of the VA does not change with time it just gets worse. Starting new programs when the old is a maze veterans already cannot find their way through. The history of the VA has taught veterans to stay away at all costs to dignity of human life.
My time in Vietnam was limited as my base camp was Uborn Thailand. I was not a Grunt, so my experiences are far less as I only did eight convoys across Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. Different in the fact I lost my complete memory forever of life before the MC from a Traumatic Brain Injury. Different in the fact, I can write about life taunted by the VA gauntlet for I am living it. I understand the guilt and shame for coming back alive to a society that cannot/won’t accept what we did. I killed the enemy with a bayonet and proudly hold my head high to see the shame in the eyes of those I did it for. I survived two Vietnam offensives on support missions and did TAD’s under enemy fire. My Vietnam memories are limited but real to this day.
The VA needs intervention before starting new programs. Al has the right idea Veterans helping Veterans but it should not be necessary. Inept senator like NH’s that never served only care that legislation they propose looks good at the next election. These senators don’t talk to the Veteran in need asking for help if our classification is not high enough. Thank You Al from California your phone call meant a lot to this US Marine. The History of the Veterans Administration is built on lack of trust from the very citizen they are obligated to help. This US society does not see the need to listen to US Military Veterans that is why to censor is the norm.
